‘Adventure Dog vof’ hereby confirms to process as little personal data as possible. We only process data necessary for carrying out our treasure hunts and to improve the treasure hunt for future participants.

The data we process will be handled with care at all times, and ‘Adventure Dog vof’ will comply with the rules established in the AVG (General Data Protection Regulation).

 

DEFINITIONS

In this statement, the following is meant by:

  • Data Subject: Participant in the treasure hunt or a person who has contacted ‘Adventure Dog vof’ on their own initiative.
  • AD: The company ‘Adventure Dog vof’ or a representative thereof.

 

ARTICLE 1. HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL DATA

AD collects personal data from data subjects during the following processes:

  1. Booking a treasure hunt via the website.
  2. Adding additional team members via the website.
  3. Sending a message via the website, email, WhatsApp, or social media.
  4. Playing the treasure hunt.
  5. Completing an online questionnaire after playing the treasure hunt.

 

 ARTICLE 2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE STORE

AD retains the following data from data subjects:

  1. Booking a treasure hunt via the website.
    1. a) Name, address, and bank details only during the payment process.
    2. b) Booking number, email address, team name, and phone numbers as reference for questions and adjustments and as required data for participation.
  2. Adding additional team members through the website.
    1. a) Name, address, and bank details only during the payment process.

  3. Sending a message via the website, email, WhatsApp, or social media.
    1. a) The email address, phone number, or social media ‘handle’ so that we can reply to the contact.
    2. b) The questions and our responses so that we can give appropriate answers both initially and for follow-up questions.
  4. Playing the treasure hunt.
    1. a) The answers received and the team’s current progression in the treasure hunt as this is needed to play the treasure hunt and share a score at the end.
    2. b) Telemetry data such as the length of time between messages and the number of attempts per question so that we can objectively see how the treasure hunt is played and thus improve the experience.
  5. Completing an online questionnaire after playing the treasure hunt.
    1. a) The answers to the questions (an email address is optional) so that we can learn how those involved experience the treasure hunt and thus improve the experience.

 

 ARTICLE 3. WHY DO WE KEEP THIS DATA (LEGAL BASIS)

  • The collection of the data mentioned under I, II, and III is necessary to be able to provide the best possible product/service to the persons concerned (legal basis 2).
  • The collection of the data mentioned under IV and V is done in order to improve the services we provide (legal basis 1) and the data subject’s consent is given for this by participating in the search or completing the questionnaire.

 

ARTICLE 4. HOW WE HANDLE PERSONAL DATA & TRANSFER TO THIRD PARTIES

  • AD will always process personal data in a lawful, honest, confidential and transparent manner as indicated in the AVG (General Data Protection Regulation).
  • Personal data will in principle not be provided to third parties unless this is done on the basis of a legal obligation.
  • If personal data are incorrectly processed, and the person concerned informs AD, AD will adjust the data and delete them if desired.
  • Data subjects may at all times contact AD via email (contact@adventuredog.nl) if they want their data to be deleted.

 

ARTICLE 5. SECURITY PERSONAL DATA

  • AD takes technical and organisational measures to protect personal data at an appropriate level of security.
  • AD takes appropriate measures to prevent any form of unlawful processing or unauthorised disclosure and access to the personal data.

 

ARTICLE 6.  DATA STORAGE, RETENTION PERIOD & RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECT

  • The retention period for all personal data is in principle more than 5 years. This is because AD uses this data to improve the treasure hunt for future participants.
  • The data subject may at any time request AD by email (contact@adventuredog.nl) to inspect their personal data.
  • The data subject may at any time request AD by email (contact@adventuredog.nl) to remove the personal data of the data subject.

 

ARTICLE 7.  COOKIES & PRIVACY   

  • When the party concerned visits the AD website (www.adventuredog.nl), information about the use of the website may be collected by means of cookies.
  • This information can be used for functional and analytical purposes.
  • AD may never disclose, borrow, rent or sell this personal data.
  • AD may use other data of the person concerned anonymously for research and for improving the treasure hunt for future participants.
  • After participating in the treasure hunt, AD may contact data subjects via email for a customer satisfaction survey. Data subjects can choose to participate in this or ignore the request.

 

ARTICLE 8.  COMPLAINTS      

  • Participants in AD’s treasure hunts have the opportunity to file complaints by email (contact@adventuredog.nl).
  • AD aims to deal with complaints as soon as possible and in any case within 4 weeks.
  • Data subjects have the right to file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

 

ARTICLE 9.  CHANGES TO PRIVACY STATEMENT

AD reserves the right, if necessary, to amend this privacy statement. Changes will be communicated to data subjects in a timely manner.
